The world is full of new music worth hearing. Too often it ends up bringing joy to only a handful of people - though it could touch crowds. This is why New Music Community was established in 2003. We are a non-profit association seeking to promote artists and bands who dare to make music with all they have.

Our core activities

We’re here, we’re there, we’re everywhere. We release new music, either independently or in co-operation with record labels, whenever it’s possible. In our website we provide free mp3-singles. All the digital art works (mp3-albums, compilations, mp3-singles) and other material (audio interviews, video clips) are released under Creative Commons License (CC).

We organize events and sell records in our webshop in co-operation with The Ground. We provide stories and news and reports from the field. We create connections between musicians, artists, music-enthusiasts and activists. We appreciate the work of independent artists, labels and records companies and thus versatile co-working is one important dimension of our activities.

We organize workshops for our artists; these workshops concentrate on artistic development and mutual sharing of experiences.

Spotting the new rising talents first

Our artists such as Rubik, Underwater Sleeping Society, Kastor, Murmansk, Astro Can Caravan, Silvio to name but few, have gained the focus (and the praise) of the listening audience as well as the music media in Finland and abroad. We are proud that we’ve been able to help. The story continues, new talented bands are around the corner.

If we like you (an independent artist), we give free advice on production and A&R! Don’t believe us, believe in you! We also provide consultancy services for other actors in the field. Please contact us directly for more information.
